VILLAGE LIFE & COOKERY LESSON

A unique guided tour taking in wonderful scenery with a real insight into the traditional Cretan way of life. You will be welcomed into a typical village house and regaled with tales of Cretan past, present and tradition. There is chance to take a small walk to the nearby local Kafeneon whilst having the opportunity to pick local produce to use in your cookery lesson. Then relax and unwind whilst you wait for your Cretan lunch to cook, taking in the panoramic views from the Kafeneon veranda. And what a perfect way to finish the tour with you enjoying your own lunch Cretan style ! .

ELAFONISI BEACH

A taste of the Caribbean here on Crete. The day out is full of fantastic surprises, the biggest of which is the pink tinged sand on the edge of the crystal clear water. Travel down to the south stopping at the Monastery of Chryssoskalitissa famous for its stunning location, church and fascinating history. Ask the Guide about the Golden Step ! Then it's chill out time on Elafonisi Beach with plenty of opportunity for swimming and walking. The day doesn't end here, there is a final stop to see Aghia Sofia Church set in a cave high above Topolia Gorge.

CRETAN EVENING AT THE BOTANICAL PARK

An absolute must and certainly probably the best and most traditional Cretan entertainment you will see. But first there is a chance to walk round the Botanical Park of Crete at a very relaxed pace to suit yourself. The evening meal is buffet style prepared with produce grown at the park. Good quality local wine is included. Then the entertainment, with a spectacular dance show with live music, including an informative explanation of each Cretan dance, origins and meaning. And of course, you may want to take part yourself and you will be taught some Cretan dance moves.

A TASTE OF CRETE

Traditional and modern Cretan life can only be fully appreciated by taking into account the relationship between church, wine, olive oil production and community as they are all inexorably intertwined in Cretan society. Religion, food and wine are all combined in this unique guided tour. An amazing day out taking in beautiful ancient churches, frescoes and cave, visit to a local wine factory with of course some wine tasting. Meze lunch followed by a visit to an organic olive oil mill then onto local small scale cheese and honey producers.

FALASSARNA BEACH

Day or evening sunset* Walk to one of Crete's loveliest beaches and lesser known archaeological sites**. The route takes you through a pretty village, olive groves and a path with stunning sea views overlooking the far west coast of Crete. Beach time for chilling and swimming. So, day or evening, the choice is yours! *Sunset depends on the time of year. **Site not open in the evening.

TREASURES OF KISSAMOS

Explore the hidden treasures of the Kissamos area on this quided tour. Discover its fascinating ancient history combined with an afternoon at one of Crete's best beaches, Falassarna, where you will have plenty of time for a swim. A fascinating day out with an informative tour of Polyrinnia, a sleepy traditional village with ancient history and stunning views. A visit to the archaeological museum in Kissamos, and then onto the beach at Falassarna with its ancient ruined port and secluded location, where you will have time for swimming.

SAMARIA GORGE WALK

The longest and most spectacular gorge in Europe and is a must whilst in Crete. Pick up is at a more sensible time than the norm and the walk starts at around 8.45 am. The highlights of this tour are stunning and breathtaking mountain scenery, Cretan flora and fauna, a chance to catch sight of the wild Kri Kri goats, the abandoned village of Samaria itself. There is also time to east and relax in Aghia Roumeli before catching the boat to Paleochora. Walking shoes are a must and best to take a swimsuit for a refreshing dip in the Libyan Sea at the end of the gorge.

GUIDED WALKING TOURS

Take your pick from walking Deliana Gorge or Sirikari/Polyrinnia gorge or do the two. Both as beautiful as Samaria, but without the crowds or the distance ! The gorges boast fantastic scenery, unique flora and fauna, and a chance to catch sight of the Griffon vultures soaring overhead. Deliana Gorge - see the two ancient churches and experience a true traditional Cretan village. Sirikari/Polyrinnia Gorge - offers traditional village and the archaeological site. Both approximately 7km. Or do the long version of Sirikari/Polyrinnia of 12km.
